a long time coming

well folks, it's been a while. don't worry--i didn't forget you (all ten of you who read this!). i have not been much in a blogging mood this semester, but i read a blog post today that really resonated with me, and i wanted to share it on my blog. i have been following this blog called "good women project" and it has been great! i have read many honest and real posts by women who are struggling with similar things that i find myself struggling with everyday too.

here is the post from today that really was perfect for me to read today considering my experience last fall--

this woman writes about when the man she thought she was going to marry breaks up with her, and how she realized after many tears and struggles that her real identity, worth, and value is only found in Christ! Amen to that! it was a really encouraging read for me, and for that i am thankful.

in other news, i have been training for a 15K--yes, i think i'm crazy too, don't you worry :) this morning i ran 7 miles and really felt it. hopefully in two weeks i'll be able to manage the 9.4 that i have to do. my main goal is just to finish. i'm not setting a time or anything like that, or even that i want to "run" the whole thing--i'm ok if i have to walk some of it. everyone tells me it is a really fun race with lots of support and encouragement from the city, so that gets me excited too. here's to march 10th!

who knows, maybe i'll start back up on this blogging adventure :)

  1. :) I feel like there's only 10 who read mine too but I bet you'd be surprised :)
Love these two quotes from that blog:

Your circumstances and your past do not reflect your value. But Jesus does. Jesus died for you, suffered for you, laid down his life for you. Because you’re that valuable.

You are loved, admired, adored, and taken care of. Forever. The pressure is off. Because you will always be enough to the man that means the most.
    -Thanks for sharing Abbie!
