After my last final today, Michael took my on a surprise outing...kayaking! Followed by a walk down the beach, and some sailing on the St. John's with some JU buddies (which was a surprise to the both of us!) Great way to start summer in the sun!

Rainy Sunday...studying for my last final in this dreary weather! Got to wear my rainboots for the first time though :)

DAY 100!!!!!!!

A perfect time to post a picture of my lovely roommate! Jennah moved out today for the summer, so in honor of having a great roommate all year long, this is my 100th picture of the year!!! Love ya Jennah!!!

Health and Wellness Finals Frenzy Event!
Jennah and I took on this event and it was a hit! We had free massages, Planet Smoothies, raffle baskets, and snacks. A de-stress event for the start of finals week :)

Jennah and I volunteered this morning at the MS walk in downtown Jax. We tied orange balloons and passed them out to everyone before the race! Here go all the balloons at the start of the race release :)

Jennah's choreography final was a site specific dance with these three ladies. She chose one of the math buildings with the "frame" like structure. Her piece was called "Frames" and was great!! An awesome use of the space and the dancers she chose :)

Me and Jennah with Dr. Frances Kinne!!

We got to hear Dr. Kinne speak tonight, and it was great!! She is a past president of Jacksonville University, the first female president of a university in the U.S!! She was a professor here before she became president in the humanities division. While she was president she brought all sorts of celebrities to campus such as Bob Hope and Jack Benny, Winston Churchill III, President Gerald Ford, the Yankees (they played our team!), Charlton Heston, Bruce Springsteen and the Doobie Brothers!
She jump started the fine arts program, the aviation program, and the college of business. She loved all her students, and as president she decided she would know them all by name (whether it was their first or last name) and she did, all 4,000! She never missed a basketball, or baseball game. There was no football team then or she would have gone to those as well.
She is such a neat lady, a go-getter, and a true optimist. She told us that every morning when she wakes up she says "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it", and she looks in the mirror and laughs at her messy hair and lipstickless lips :)
She is quite the inspiration! It was so neat being able to meet her, and talking to her personally afterward for almost half and hour!

These flowers (and lots of others) are blooming! I pass them every morning on my way to class! And despite how they look in the picture, these particular ones are really tiny, much smaller than azaleas. I'm really curious as to what kind they are...I'm sure my botany professor would call them "cute" :)
